Connecting Winforms application with Aspx websote

Currently i am working on a management website and i want to use fingerprint device for attendance. Now my problem is that how can i connect my fingerprint machine with the website, especially if i host the site online.

Note: Some people told me about creating an ActiveX control for my site, but i dont know how to create it, rather i would like to create a winform application that could connect to my server and save the data on the database....But how to do it ....

Till now i have only one option that i will create an aspx page that will accept data as get/post parameters and it will insert data in the database and will return success or failure status...
