java image processsing

i am working on final year project image processing in that i am not able extract text from image .can any one suggest me how can i extract text from image or any sample code or example

i know that but i cant understand what he said please give me any example how can i extract string from image or single character from image or extracting digit from image

The question which you are asking is pretty difficult..to code your own OCR is actually tough..you'll have to use some 3rd party tools like tesseract..Please see the second solution posted by Richard.
