I have 500 GB of Hard Disk in my system. I have near 100GB of free space that is not yet partitioned. Plz help me so that i can append this free space in existing drive(C:) (if possible without formating system).

Adding unpartitioned space to your Primary drive is not advisable and is a cumbersome process. I would rather suggest you make a new partition and use it as a different drive to save your data.

HTH!

I'm not sure if windows ever acquired the ability to resize partitions, but there are 3rd party tools like partition magic which can do so. The caveat is that if something goes wrong (eg power failure, random crash) during the process you could end up with your partition broken and your OS non-bootable.

On Windows 7 you can resize your hardrive with Disk Management

Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Computer Management -> Disk Management

Right click on a partition and select shrink volume or extend volume.
