How to display an uploaded image without refresshing

Hi
Can anyone help me out the link to any tutorial that will help me out with this problem, i have fundamental knowledge of JavaScript i have a site that users upload their images. What i want is, i want my site to display an uploaded image without refreshing the web page. Can anyone help me out on to how best i can attack this
