Hi,

I was just wondering if there was any way to simulate somehow a flashdrive, so that I could connect for example the computer with a DVD player to play the movies directly from my computer through an USB port. Is it possible? I tried looking everywhere but I haven't found a single article, so I guess nobody has ever tried to do this before.

Here's the concept: I create somehow a "2 way usb" so that both end will be an IN end (well that is another story how), and plug one of its ends to the computer and the other one to the DVD player. The dvd player would detect it as a flash drive therefore show the files I have on it, or I send the signals themself about the directories and files.

Thanks for your answers in advance.

Answer to what? Seems like more of a hardware problem than software. What is the specific problem related to a specific program code that you have a question about?

Only if you read what I wrote you would know. All I was asking if this was possible, and if so, how? There you go, this is the question. :) Yes, this may be a hardware problem, but hey, a hardware isn't going to solve the whole problem, it needs to be coded, right? I don't have any program code, I don't even know if this is possible. I don't think it is, but I asked because I was curious.

Oh I assure you, I read your non-question very carefully. Not only is your non-question off topic but it does not conform to the posting guideline IMO. If you do not have any program code, then why are you posting on a technical forum dedicated to answering programming questions?

Ok, look, if you can't say anything about the topic why did you even take time to comment? You are just being rude. That's it for me, thanks for commenting.

Me being rude? How so? You are the one making inappropriate postings? Am I being as rude as, oh say, someone wanting someone else to do their research for them? If you do not like people commenting, don't post on public forums.

I suppose you cannot use the PC as a USB On-The-Go device[^].
