Jobs on asp.net not on mvc

Dear All,
I am a .net developer having experience of 2 years, i am currently working on asp .net 4.0 and I have little knowledge about the M.V.C architecture, Now i wan to change my job, because i am having knowledge only about the asp.net, some of my friend told me that there is only M.V.C architecture jobs in market, there is no jobs on asp.net, is that true, will i not get any job on asp.net. Please suggest me.

Any help will be highly appreciated.

First of all, if you think that ASP.NET and MVC are alternatives, think again: http://www.asp.net/mvc[^].

As to the advice by friends,

Folk wisdom says:
Why do you need enemies, with such friends? :-)

Don't blame your friends though; it was just a joke, but with a very practical hint: always use your own brain. If you look at other questions on this site, you can see that ASP.NET flourishes. However, if you look at the first paragraph above and just look around, you should understand that using ASP.NET and not learning MVC would be pretty silly.

I doubt you have right attitude in general. If you face with technology you don't understand well right now, don't consider it as a hassle; consider it as an opportunity you don't want to miss.

To clear mvc interview i have to work on live project, and it is not in my hand, that whether i will get mvc live project or not, i just want to know the asp.net opportunity in indian I.T industry.

Please suggest me.

Do you or do not, that is as simple as that. Of course you should work on live project, but you can makes some project for yourself, to start with.
