i have a text box in user control ..that user control is is placed in web page .the web page in master page.i want to write the java script function in master page for validating the text box in user control from web page please clarify my doubt this is my urgent requirement..

So, what is the issue? At the end, when the final HTML is formed, JS of Masterpage and HTML of usercontrol are on same page. Thus, any Javascript code written on Masterpage will be available and accessible at runtime.

Just write the JS code as per need. Define a validation method, access the controls to validate, validate them. Show the response as per validation.
