Solution 1

Check for AVFoundation and also check by creating an AVAsset with an AVAssetWriter. You provide AVAssetWriter an instance of AVAssetWriterInput. It takes CMSampleBuffer data and packages it up for the AVAssetWriter.
AVAssetWriterInput is designed for taking real time input.
