ASP.net need to design a web application and connect it with database in SQL server 2005

I wanted to design an aspx page with date picker class or calendar class, and define a listbox that has 7 items, where each item initiate an event to select data from the database based on the selected date from the date picker class or calender class.
I wanted to know the exact code to establish a database connection and execute a query, based on the selected field in the list box and datepicker class.

Please assist me asap.
