Not able to maximize application from Taskbar

I have created an dialog based window application VC++/MFC.Some times , the application don't get maximize from task bar.

please check the step below:
1. Run the application maximize it and then minimize.
2. Click on another application on task bar maximize and minimize it .
3. Go back to firs application (i:e the one which is minimize in first step)and click from task bar to maximize,the window don't get maximize

please help me to resolve this issue.

Just FYI - the opposite action of "minimize" is not "maximize", it is "restore". Windows have 3 actions. Minimize (to taskbar), Restore (from taskbar) and Maximize (to the size of the screen). Which are you trying to really do?

This problem is there only with your application or same behavr with other apps also??If your app only has the problem, Do have any code in your application to handle the window minimize/maximize/restore etc?

i have tested on another application also, same issue arises and abt code i am handling the below given code.

OnSysCommand(UINT nID, LPARAM lParam)

ShowWindow(SW_SHOW);

But this function is called only when system menu is click.
it is not called from task bar when issue arises.

OnSysCommand() is when Windows is telling you that someone clicked on the menu or buttons to minimize / maximize / close your application and wants you to do something about that. This is different that the *notification* that minimize / maximize / restore has actually happened. You need to handle the OnSize() event / message for that.

The first point is fine.
According to you OnSize() event should be handled, But the problem is that, when i click on taskbar to maximize/restore the application the function is not called (checked by debugging).

Sorry, I'm running Windows 7 and your problem is Windows XP related. I also do not install other people's things on my PC. Sorry I cannot be of any help to you.
