Setup an Email Server

Dear Developers,

I just wanted to know that how to develop an email server with c#.net.

Right now i just want to develop a local email server within my new server which is on Windows Server 2008 Ent. Edition.

Any guidelines...??

Do you really want to setup an Email server or create one? your title seem to contradict the content of your post.

What kind of e-mail server? POP3, IMAP...?

Please see my comment to the the question. I'm not sure that you know what you want, otherwise the question would be more specific. So first, you need to learn how e-mail works in principle.

As it is not clear what do you mean by "e-mail server", please learn all kinds of players in the e-mail word and decide where you want to participate with your code. Would be good is you share with us — why.
