Too broad question. Do you expect someone to write a book on security. Your idea about wrong password is a small and not the most important part of security. Did you think that someone can spy on the password sent? Read a password? And a lot more. You did not even explain is it a network application or not, what is protected -- nothing. The question is not answerable, sorry.
