hi friends i have doubt about a question and this question i have attended in my last interview but i m not getting correct answer for this...

Q :- How many web.config files can have in a web application..??

Options

1. One
2. One per folder
3. Two
4. One per application pool.


Please all put your replies..

You may have multiple Web.Config files in one Asp.Net Application, but only single per folder.

Application-Pool
Although your curiosity might be genuine, but it is irrelevant to associate this with Application-Pool. One Application-Pool can be assigned/associated with one/multiple Web Applications/Sites in IIS.

2. Web.config file is the configuration file this contain One per folder.
This is the file which handles in application pool
