Solution 2

if your machine is 32bit then you may need this Windows Imaging Component[^] be installed before install visual studio 2010.
To know your PC 32bit or 64bit:
Just right click on My Computer and left click on Properties.

VS 2010 installs in Windows 7 just fine: loads of people have done it.

So, it must be you.

What are you doing exactly?
What errors are you getting, if any?
Exactly which VS2010 and exactly which Win7 are you using?
What messages do you get during installation?
