Error when call a HTML page from aspx page

in my asp website, from an aspx file i call a html file.
end the below error was shwon :

The HTTP verb POST used to access path '/mywebsite/about.html' is not allowed.

why?

What happens if you try to go that URL directly? And why are you POSTing to a static page; wouldn't GET work?
