Ok firstly the repost is because Im battling with multiple parts of this code... this code is my code, anyways what my problem is that the assignfile(F, 'Students\..... etc) is not creating a 'student name.txt' in the subfolder Students... their are no errors, there are no exceptions, its all smooth sailing, it just does not create the text files when it is supposed to

Ok I apologize for not being very clear, I have a Tcombobox that has preloaded options to update my rich edit by replacing a keyword in my rich edit, in this case for example: I select "C1 level" in my Tcombobox I click btnUpdate, in my rich edit "NIVEL DE LENGUAJE: *********" must be changed to "NIVEL DE LENGUAJE: C1 LEVEL"

All the student information is stored in a folder under the format of "StudentName StudentSurname.zip" for example "Max Johnson.zip" now hypthetically speaking Max Johnson is the only student on record THEREFORE if I search for example "Alice Bogard" it MUST say as an error message "Student does not exist" I want the code for the Error message box to be able to do so, because as of now when I do a search of a non existent student the program crashes, when I just need a simple "Student doesnt exist"

Nope lets see if I can put this properly... when a students data is saved it is saved to a "Students_name.zip" when I search that name "Students_Name" it brings up the data in a richedit (THAT IS ALL DONE ALREADY SO I DONT NEED HELP FOR THAT)... now what I want to do is condition that is "If student name does not exist then display error message 'student doesnt exist'" similar to the one you see above.

Ahhh yes... RDisp is a Richedit, basically what I want is, if you search "Mario" in the Tedit it will display an error message that says "Student doesnt exist", the way I have it is studnent data is stored in a protected zip file, and thats working perfectly, I just want the condition that if the Search word doesnt exist then I get an error.
