Thank you so much clearing the doubt @RossMw. i was just suprised a bit when i ran both the queries i could see the second query fetching me data such as 'Aadam' and many more.

I just want to add up the rows which are odd in one column as obj1 and even column as obj2

NO sir it didnt work for me. Example If in 1st column ABCD is correct answer and in 2nd Column student answer's as CBCA then i want to compare both the column and write result in 3rd column where answer should be like C**A. that is correct answers should become * and wrong answer should remain as it is. so can u please help thank you

EXample is : DC** and i want to execute the statement for about some 10 or 20 row how will i do it.. if you could help it my help me in understanding SQL a little more. thank you..sir

Thank you so much carlos.ma for your effort yo answer my question, it is working fine but still i have one small query . Why is it allowing 2 special character. I want it to just allow only one special character and trim of the next special character after alerting the message. i would be thankfull if you help me out with it and give a bit of explaination. thank you so much!!!!!!!
