@sisir patro I have many ID numbers because I save data from my VB.net program to my SQL database.. now I want to retrieve them from the database using the ID number only.. for example: ID: 123 Name: Ronald (this is the data that I saved from the database, now I want to retrieve the name with my ID number..)

okay, its connected now. i just clicked the browse option and found another server without the "SQLEXPRESS" .. but I'm still getting the same errors.. what now?

No, it did not. it gave me the "Error 26"

that is the default server name the "RONALDAMIT-PC/SQLEXPRESS"

I don't know. but the scanner has its own software, what I want to do is to make my own thumbprint database and thumbprint software with this device.

Yes, okay. Thank you for that. I have a Thumbprint scanner, can I use that for the ID purposes? And every time I scan it, a message box will appear that says like, "this package ID was scanned by such and scanner at this date and time". so what do you think?

Yes, the physical type. you know when you send a package to someone and you want to know where it, was it sent, was it not, or was it sent somewhere else? that kind of tracking. a
