well, I know that you can use the microsoft speech system for example,
using System.Speech; namespace can this help me? I'm not looking for anything accurate so if it is not the best choice then it doesn't really matter as long as it works then I'm fine with that.

Its not that, the problem is that I created the picturebox through code and not through the toolbox. I guess I need to find a way to turn that picturebox into an actual control or something.

hi, sorry I haven't been on lately. I tried your code as suggested but I get debugging error.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
'WindowsFormsApplication1.Form1' does not contain a definition for 'ANDpic_MouseDown' and no extension method 'ANDpic_MouseDown' accepting a first argument of type 'WindowsFormsApplication1.Form1' could be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?)

Any suggestions?
Thanks

I see, I am going to have to reboot the computer. Besides, the only thing I could do is get the command prompt which is useless because of what you said about hidden processes and there is no way to tell which process is a system process and which is actually the virus process anyways. I do, thanks for asking though. The reason why I am doing this is for a graphic design class. I have to make several designs in adobe illustrator and then send them as a .pdf so changing these .ai files are tedious for me. Thanks, Ill get some practice in that. For the ai articles, I have been trying to look for some and cant seem to find one. Do you know any links?
One more thing, I was thinking about making a class for every mood and some integer values for them.Is this a good way to start or do you have another hypothesis?
Thanks,

yeah thats code that I was testing but forgot to take off, remember im learning how to do this so i dont really care about neatness right now. And just to let you know... I did explained the required behavior and that is to make picturebox1 not go through picturebox2 as seen on the last sentence of the explanation. It's a simple collision behavior like in a game when the character runs to a wall but doesn't go through, thats what I need help in.

first off, the reason why someone would want to shutdown their computer when they are done downloading or installing something is I don't know.. maybe they have to go somewhere or their pulling a huge all nighter download and they want their PC to shutdown while their asleep.
Secondly, any type of download or installation. I got my program to list all of the processes that are running in a checklistbox. The design was that the user checks on the programs that they wish to monitor. If those processes closed or is "idle" then the program was supposed to shutdown the computer.
Thirdly, not all programs close when they are done installing, some stay open and say installation is complete and the user has to close it manually like video games, old software and non commercial applications.
Since there is no other way to do this then how do I check to see if the processes that the user selects from the checklistbox exited?
here is my code
namespace WindowsFormsApplication1
{
public partial class Form1 : Form
{
public Form1()
{
InitializeComponent();
}
int timer = 100;
bool restart;
Process[] pro = Process.GetProcesses();
private void Form1_Load(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
foreach (Process prolist in pro)
{
checkedListBox1.Items.Add(prolist.ProcessName);
}
}
private void button1_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
MessageBox.Show("timer started");
timer1.Interval = timer;
timer1.Enabled = true;
timer1.Start();
}
private void timer1_Tick(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
if (timer1.Enabled == true)
{
timer = timer = -1;
}
if (timer == -1)
{
checkedListBox1.Refresh();
foreach (Process prolist in pro)
checkedListBox1.Items.Add(prolist.ProcessName);
{
if (listBox1.Items.Equals(listBox1.SelectedItems.Equals(0)))
{
MessageBox.Show("not found");
}
else
{
timer = 100;
}
}
}
}
private void button2_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
timer1.Stop();
timer = 10;
MessageBox.Show("timer stopped");
}
private void button3_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
checkedListBox1.Items.Clear();
Process[] pro = Process.GetProcesses();
foreach (Process prolist in pro)
{
checkedListBox1.Items.Add(prolist.ProcessName);
}
}
private void checkedListBox1_ItemCheck(object sender, ItemCheckEventArgs e)
{
listBox1.Items.Add(checkedListBox1.SelectedItem);
}
}
}

I'm making a custom login program that prompts the user to put in a password at the startup. I don't want the user to be able to stop my program by using command prompt, task manager or be able to use the computer without putting in the password. If there is another method of doing the desired result then please let me know.
NOTE: so far I got a blank, full screen, topmost window that covers everything. I also have the login form that prompts the user for the password. it is a modal form so you cannot click anywhere but the user is able to use the keyboard to navigate out.
I know this program is reinventing the wheel but I'm doing this for practice.

Actually windows media player works now that I tried it again. Before I draw this to a close I have one more question, in the code from the link it responds by starting a program by calling it by its name. I made some changes so that it opens a filebrowser and you choose what to open and capture. Is there a way to fire the code by dragging a program into the application instead?
I thank you for your time, you help me tremendously.

I found a way to capture windows in my program in this link http://stackoverflow.com/questions/758494/how-can-i-run-another-application-within-a-panel-of-my-c-sharp-program
But I noticed that I can only capture simple things like notepad and cmd but not windows media player and others(most likely because they don't support that function). The link that you sent me is kind of confusing to me and I'm not sure how to implement the code. If your link can do any type of program then could you show an example and explain it to me?

Thanks, I'm glad you finally understand. I did some diagnostics on what you said and it seems like the game allows some options that enable it to be windowed instead of full screen. So no problem there, it displays the form first when switched to those settings. Even if I don't need to make this program anymore I can tell it will be handy to know its functionality and plus it might be more convenient in other games or programs. So its a go, if your still willing to help out.

I thought it was clear enough, You see when your playing a MMO you cant pause the game therefore you are pretty much vulnerable if you have to tab in order to look at another window. A lot of programs don't support features that allows you to keep the window from hiding in the background, so by dragging a window for example a media player playing a song into my application's window I will be able to keep my window from minimizing or hiding, thus allowing me to control the media player while keeping track of the game.

ive been trying your code and I cant seem to figure out how to implement it. I am somewhat as a beginner/ almost intermediate :) so It's a lot to take in. Is there an easier way or can you try to explain it based at my skill level? I know im asking for a lot because based on how much programming is involved here but I would deeply appreciate some extra help.
To make things more clear I will explain what my project is. My project is to make a GUI form of the command prompt. How was I going to achieve this? well I learned from recent research that visual C# is able to call events from the command-line itself. So the real problem is just organizing all of its functions. So I decided to go with the treeview tool because there are so many sub-commands within a command in the command line. Like I said earlier I wanted a treeview with the name of all the functions and a textbox with the description when someone selects a command. then I would add a button which would call the command-line command.
well thats what I am aiming for, so I hope this info can help you help me better.

ok thanks, well Robins solution works because instead of textbox1.text = e.Node.text I changed it to textbox1.text = e.Node.tooltip
which all i do is change the tooltip to my description but if you have a better way then I would appreciate it.

sorry about that, my application is a windows form, now about the TreeView I don't know how to explain it because all I see is one but here is the tooltip definition.
Displays a hierarchical collection of labeled items to the user that optionally contains an image.

thanks for the help, I like your ideas but I have a question. you have the code for a console application but my app is a windows forms so how would I record all the processes in a richtextbox or in any other graphical environment?
