That's what is startling me, as on my initial request it doesn't open a browser, but with my subsequent request it does open, even if I don't interact with the browser and validate my credentials, it works fine and fetches information.

To be in the same page. By open I mean open in app i.e. your application will show your report in your application. Yes we can export Crystal Reports into PDF without opening(view) in your app. I have created applications for my organisation Console as well as WinForms which will export data provided to Crystal Report into PDF to specified location.
