I think you are right. I have tried your solution and am somehow able to make it work. Would be great if it worked through out. Shall post soon if it does. No compiler errors anymore :)

So is there no way out from this? I tried this: http://www.multicoreconsulting.co.uk/blog/c-snippets/how-to-call-unmanaged-cplusplus-from-csharp/ but still no luck.

Yes exactly that is what I am looking for. Could you please post an example? I know how to do such things in C++, but C# is a bit new to me.

Yup I have that installed on my system. I am just not aware of what to put in as the connection string values for my MS SQL server in order to point it to the database that I am using in my application.

Thanks. I do have the migration tool kit already available, I am just not sure how do I target the application to my MS SQL database that I am using to convert to MySQL database. I am getting errors on connecting to the MS SQL database.

Yes, that is fine but could you suggest how do I use this with my Button Control? Or how do I detect whether one of my buttons is pressed or not and then allow the OnLButtonDown to function?

But this is not an MFC C++ function that I could use. Or will I be able to use this? Could you suggest me an example to follow this? I know we can do this in C# but not sure about C++.

Ok in regards to your solution, is there a decompression function that I could use that would uncompress the zipped file and then display it like a file explorer on my web page?

What about the second option? Even that is not possible?

Yeah, basically I have total 12 Write commands .. of which 4 of them need to be sent at 100 ms whilst others can go at any other rate.. Even using tick counts won't help?

Yes the data can be read in time and there is a sleep after my write command... of about 1 second to ensure the data is received...

Hello, could you please give an example on how could use it in my situation? It seems to be quite easy but I'm really struggling to get this bit working. Looking forward to your reply.
Thanks.

Hey thanks for your input. I tried the UpdateWindow() after Invalidate() but no luck yet. The drawing is happening but I have to minimize and then reopen the window again to see the graph.. but it does not keep getting updated as and when the values change...

Yes m_GraphWindowCtrl is a member variable of the graph window that is a child window of the CCurveDlg. I am using m_GraphWindowCtrl.Invalidate() when the value is updated in the Thread. Will give it a try with RedrawWindow or UpdateWindow.

Oh ok thanks for that information but the thing is I have an array of 20 points but not in Pt. The variable 'm_lStrainTotal' get updated every time the thread is run and that in turn updates the Point 'Pt' which I am guessing should update the Polybezier function that would help me plot the curve.

Yes the points are inside the plot area. I am a bit confused over the fact that is it possible to update points using threads or will it automatically do using the OnPaint() function. DrawCurve(..) is in the OnPaint() function.

From my understanding, I'm guessing you are trying to access your Serial Port/s using your MFC DLL file.

I am aware of the fact that I would be required to use ctypes, but somehow I am unable to understand the way I am supposed to go about it. I have a sample
program
and I want to try using ctypes to access the "BoxProperties" function but no luck so far.

Hello, I seem you exactly would know what I am trying to do as well. I want to access a function in an MFC dll using Python which is very much similar to what the above question says. I have been trying lots since 4 days but no luck till now. I am new to PythonWin but have been doing MFC for about 2 months now. Could you suggest me a sample Python code for this code so that I can try it out and use it in my application?
