i think this is the solution: define "class MainWindow" before "namespace Ui" you must define a class then use it.
what is the Q_OBJECT in your code? i don't understand it

USB is removed from PC but CD drive must remain, if there were a way to log boot time (CD boot time and date) it would be most helpful in my condition.

dear Sergey,
USB is hardware blocked and removing CD drive is not a option!
It's hard to explain my job, I'd say that my job is secured but my PC is not!
However, even log time and date of boot from CD is most helpful.
