Yes it means you are creating object of B with reference to A. If you want to create object of B, you have to use B obj=new B();
Santhosh Kumar Jayaraman

Then declare
class B as child class
like this
class a
{
}
class b:A

I believe you didnt get compiler error. It would be a run time error which is different than what you had earlier.
yes thats right.Thats because you have 5 columns in the first select statement and only 4 columns in the except and Union statements, you are missing one column

if exists, then check whether values exists else insert.

Check my updated solution., here am checking whether any record exists for currentdate if no, then am inserting into logintable.
Logintable=tablename
logindate=column..So you have to replace normal insert things which you already have to this in stored proc.
So at a time there will be only one record for user/day
Santhosh Kumar Jayaraman
28-Aug-12 8:56am
View
It will still execute if block if values are same.
If values are in double and dint match, if loop wont be executed.
If its not able to parse, it means incorrect and it will return
Santhosh Kumar Jayaraman
28-Aug-12 8:47am
View
Tryparse will parse the string to double only if the string contains double value. If its not able to convert, it wont threw error and stop your program. Instead of that it will set value as double.MinValue same as almost equal to 0 if i try to convert string "s" to double in normal way, it will threw error as you said. But if i use tryparse, it will return me Double.MinValue

I have noticed its just an insert proc right? You are not returning anytables, then why cannot you use ExecuteNonQuery()
command.CommandType = CommandType.StoredProcedure;
command.Connection = con;
command.CommandText = spNameForXlUpload;
command.Parameters.Add(new SqlParameter("@XMLItemsDoc", xmlDoc.Trim()));
cmd.ExecuteNonQuery();
Then select from table and fill it in dataadapter
Santhosh Kumar Jayaraman

You no need to pass parameter. In your stored proc you take last id and making it as +1, so its fine. But can you put a print next to this
SET @Disc_Code = (SELECT REPLACE(@Disc_Code,@NID,@CNT))
and check what value is coming here and check its already present in database.

Yes i got your question. So what you have to do is when you got load items into listbox from database. You have to put a check, whether that record is present already in the database, If its present, then set checked =true.

Usually they use rowcount to know how many records inserted, updated and deleted. They dont use it with select queries. Count(1) will be faster than select * and @@rowcount. SO i would say dont use @@rowcount
Santhosh Kumar Jayaraman
20-Aug-12 8:06am

No its not required..@count is enough
Santhosh Kumar Jayaraman
20-Aug-12 7:58am

If you use this,
SELECT * FROM MY_DATA WITH (NOLOCK)
you will get output of this.So instead of @@rowcount, i am gettin count .so only FROM select * from MY_DETAIL WITH (NOLOCK) will display records
