You mean "Client Script is much faster than a server script"? In that case I disagree! There are things that clientside can't do an vice versa. You cant do a speed comparison between client side and server side script... Makes no sense..

If you manage to open the MMC and add the Performance snap-in, you will see a list of all available counters. That will help you find the right one.
I guess the one you'll need is
var cpuProcess = new PerformanceCounter("Process", "Virtual Bytes", name);
Michael Groeger have written a nice article about this: http://www.codeproject.com/Articles/8590/An-Introduction-To-Performance-Counters
Find setting restricting the access, which is Local Computer Policy > User Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Microsoft Management Console > Restrict the user from entering author mode, Enabled. Set it to disabled, then you can access MMC :)

Run program "dcomcnfg -32". ( You cant find the word and excel components if it runs under 64bit)
Go to "Console Root/Component Services/Computer/My Computer/DCOM Config/" Look up Microsoft Word and Excel and choose properties.
Go to Security and select "Customize" under "Configuration Permissions. (If needed you might want to change the other permissions as well, but I didn't need to) Add "IIS_IUSRS" and give it "Full Control".
Now go to "Identity" and select "The interactive user".
Do not forget to press "OK" when done. :D
I Hope this helps you with your problem and also the rest who gets here and read this.

ok, a long time since I used webforms. In mvc I use global.asax's Application_AcquireRequestState.

protected void Application_AcquireRequestState(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
var culture = Convert.ToString(Session["MyCulture"]);
var c = System.Globalization.CultureInfo.GetCultureInfo(culture)
Thread.CurrentThread.CurrentCulture = c;
Thread.CurrentThread.CurrentUICulture = c;

You need to implement IDisposable in your classes if you have to clean up anything after it has done it's job. Then you can run som code after object is used.
A class can also have a "destructor" (
MSDN Destructors (C# Programming Guide)
). Using GC.SupressFinalize you tell the object not to "execute" this destructor.

If you're only concern is performance (and that's really important), then go for stored procedures. If you want to write maintainable code, use object relational mapping tools. It's much easier to maintain code and do business logic in your application rather than doing this in your database. And the performance isn't that much better by using stored procedures.

I have no idea why you want to do this, but I don't think you'll find a smart/easy way of doing this in sql. A Database is ment for data, not logic. I think you should treat data as data and when you need to manipulate it like this, take it out to your program and to all logic there..

For just a few items, the difference is small. If you have many items you should definitely use a switch.
If a switch contains more than five items, it's implemented using a lookup table or a hash list. This means that all items get the same access time, compared to a list of if:s where the last item takes much more time to reach as it has to evaluate every previous condition first.

I guess the result would be "0"
Why? Well, you are doing a loop (which does nothing) then a few GC methods, then you write the count of SomeSubscribers which still is none because you haven't added any.

run your site, right-click your browser window and select "view source". Then you will see that this approach (response.write) is no good..

No. The compiler will give about the same result. I would prefer the second option as it's more readable.

You could add it to a stored procedure and send in those 2 characters as input, and the procedure will return the complete key. The code I wrote will do the hard part: generate that key.

5'ed Ngen! But it's not straight forward...
MSDN: In order to get the optimal performance from NGen, all assemblies in the application need to be strong-named and installed into the Global Assembly Cache (GAC) prior to compilation. If an assembly is strong-named and not installed into the GAC, the loader will need to verify the assembly's signature at load time

Your sql is vulnerable for injections! People with a bit knowledge about sql can easily wipe out your database or get data you don't want to show them.
Please read

Why do you want to do it as a sql-function. The problem is that there are no sql-function for splitting data. See this thread: http://www.codeproject.com/Questions/441329/insert-rows-in-to-table-from-string

This solution requires C#. I think Sucl1 wants to do this inside the database..

I totally agree with you! It's important to keep data AS data. As I can see in rohit24c491's question he has a string value "9/1/2001" (which should be a date) and wants to convert it to another dateformat. That is why my answer is that he will have to do 2 things. First make sure "9/1/2001" is a DateTime object. Then he can format the DateTime object as he prefer.

select max(isnull(null,0))+1
Works fine at my computer.
I often use COALESCE function. It returns the first nonnull expression among its arguments. SELECT COALESCE(anullvalue, anothernullvalue, value) As Test

httpBrowser.JavaScript tells you if the browser supports javascript, not if it's enabled. The only way to tell if javascript is enabled is to write some javascript and check if the browser cares.

I agree, but siasalar asked "I want to round the number of TextBox1 and show it into TextBox2 with 4 digit after"." He asked how to get 4 digits in his textbox.
And when converting users input to number you should use a TryParse to avoid exceptions...
