I have tested on a couple. It crashed at first on all test environments when I apgraded to v5 but stopped after the downgrade. I have latest version of browsers, IE 9 and firefox 14 beta. AM still investigating. Thanks again.

Yes sir. I have a number. Even though i checked for any likely event in the program causing this and realized it was crushing even without being used.
It is an OOB application.

Thanks, I mean crashes. In Win 7, there is that pop up with the message 'Application has stopped working ...'. Above are the details of the crash report.

sounds to me like you have four controls in question, two check boxes inside the grid for start and end date and two calendar controls outside this grid. And when you select one in grid, the outside one is deactivated etc. Is that right? Please clarify.

yes I did. But not much help from that end though I have this programmers guide from them. I was able to come up with this simple method for connecting and associating the hardware with the network. However the part getStatus returns 0 instead of expected 1. please have a look
Private myIP As CRsiComWinsock = New CRsiComWinsock()
Const bTRUE As Integer = 1
Const bFALSE As Integer = 0
Private myNetwork As CRsiNetwork = New CRsiNetwork()
Private myRdr As CRsiFingerReader = New CRsiFingerReader()
Private Result As Integer
Public Sub Connect()
myIP = New CRsiComWinsock()
myIP.SetHost(_ipAddress) 'set IP address here
If bFALSE = myIP.SetRxTimeout(9000) Then
'Throw New Exception("Unable to set new timeout")
Dim msg = "Unable to Ping IP Address"
End If
'ping me
myIP.EnablePing()
Dim i = myIP.Ping()
If bTRUE = myIP.Ping() Then
If False = myIP.Connect() Then
myIP.Disconnect()
myIP.ResetSocket()
myIP.Connect()
End If
Else 'Unable to connect
'Throw New Exception(String.Format("Unable to Ping IP Address {0}. Make sure the reader is connected and has power. Also make sure the IP address is set correctly in the reader.", _ipAddress))
Dim msg = "Unable to Ping IP Address"
End If
If bFALSE = myIP.IsConnected Then
'Throw New Exception("Unable to establish a connection")
Dim msg = "Unable to Ping IP Address"
Else
myNetwork = New CRsiNetwork()
'check and set address
myNetwork.Attach(myRdr)
myNetwork.SetCom(myIP)
Result = myRdr.CmdGetStatus(status)'this fails ???
End If
End Sub
