Are you getting the values of frmdat, tdatee and regionvalue same as you are passing in SQL query? Have you tried putting a debugger and checked these values?

Definitely. That's the whole point. This is a place where people ask questions when they are stuck somewhere and here is something from your question:</br>Why this is happening?</br>How to handle that?</br>I made checkbox1.checked== true in javascript</br></br>Now, tell me honestly. Do you still think anyone can find what is going on with your code? Do you think only this much of explanation can get you a write answer. Read both the replies(mine and Sergey's) and then get back to your system, learn page life cycle, try it and then if you are stuck somewhere, ask here. We would be more than happy to help you out.

He is right. It is up to you to take care of maintaining state of your controls on your page. We can not read your complete code remotely. It looks like there is a postback which refreshes the page and due t which your controls are rendering again. This is the normal way a web page behaves. What is it that diverts your mind? Why this rudeness? Just because you have been pointed in the right direction? This is surely not a sign of a good programmer. Always looking for answers provided by others is not an option. You will only get direction. Rest is up to you. And by the way checkbox1.checked== true is not assignment and by any chance(which is impossible) it becomes in a century or two, it has nothing to do with server side code.

There is no error in your Cursor. I ran a few tests and everything works fine. The only thing I had to change was the line

What Kornfield Eliyahu Peter wants to convey is: do you know what Convert.ToInt32(yearP)(yearValue.SelectedValue) does? You either write Convert.ToInt32(yearP); or Convert.ToInt32(yearValue.SelectedValue). Writing Convert.ToInt32(yearP)(yearValue.SelectedValue) and getting error is not unexpected.

Post your code. My guess is that you have written jQuery function on document's ready event and after postback that is not working. This is the default behaviour of JQuery with partial postbacks. Post your code. It will make things a lot clear.

Usually a gridview is used to display tabular data whereas a label is used to show text. Gridview offers a number of events to take benefit of whereas a label is limited to presentation purpose only. Gridview is used to present data in repeated form whereas a label is generally static. There is a huge difference between these two controls. You can select either depending upon your requirements. What exactly is it that is making you bound with label only?

If you follow all the instructions given on the plugin's page you will make it work perfectly. All you have to do is include JQuery and CSS file in your header section, add loader div just after <body> and the script that triggers the plugin just before </body>. Regarding adding another image, you will have to play with the CSS and JS of the plugin, to make it work.

Have you followed all the instructions? Just make sure the image path is correct, the script is included just before the closing of body tag, and the preloader's HTML is included just after the start of the body tag. That's it to make it work. Yes, Jquery file is required at the top and valid doctype.

As I stated you are using ObjectDataSource to bind the data. So updation, deletion and adding must be performed on the same source. Well, you are using DataSource object to bind gridview. In this case performing CRUD operations can also be done using example at http://highoncoding.com/Articles/139_GridView_With_ObjectDataSource.aspx
Anyways, the error you are getting is because of wrong evaluation of command argument. You must supply it as CommandArgument = '<%# Eval("shoppingCartID") %>'
Try this and reply.

Hi Prasad.
Sometimes there is a need to fix something such as css or appearance of certain elements when the browser is IE(for obvious reasons). The conditional comments are really useful as they are supported by IE only. Its kind of shortcut to execute commands only in case of IE. I think that was what the OP wanted to achieve. Anyways your solution is perfect for situations where a user want to perform cross browser tasks. You should have posted it as a solution. I wish I could give a +5 for that.

Adding a postback trigger usually is sufficient as file can not be uploaded from within an update panel. You will have to post your code to show how you are handling uploading of file and in which event.

It's all right. You certainly does know where to use them. Can you check what is the value passed by txtexpdate.Text? Is it a valid date(in terms of database, they usually store them as MM/dd/yyyy)? Also, if the datatype of the associated column is DateTime, there is no need to convert the string into date. It will be taken care of by SQL Server.
Zafar Sultan
14-Jun-13 5:31am
View
Is that an order or you are asking for help? The error will never come to cease until you change your code to some standard. Anyways, There are a number of reasons things are not going the right way in the above code. You have to check in your table what is the datatype of the column in which you are storing date. Then you will have to see what is the format(dd/MM/yyyy or MM/dd/yyyy). According to this you need to pass the value. May be you are passing the date as "30/12/2013" but at the database side the format is "MM/dd/yyyy". This will definitely raise the error. Similarly there can be other problems as well. The easiest solution to overcome these is using SP. But since you are not even ready for parameterised query, there is no question of SP. Have a nice day.

Sorry, I didn't pay attention. You asked about putting a comma. Because it will be included in the output for readability. It is not mandatory. You will get the output as Emp ID: 1, Emp Name: XYZ, Emp Salary: 40000, Emp City: Mumbai
(Based on the input provided)

"Emp Name: " is a string and EmpName is the value of textbox that will be appended to the message. At runtime it will be shown as Emp Name: XYZ(based on the input)

Then you will have to delete every control on your aspx page and again create it(select the control, cut it, save the page paste the control and again save the page). Do this for all controls. In this way they will be added in your designer.cs file. You can also add them manually, but I doubt you will make a bigger mess. Hope it helps.

Sometimes it is better to make them yourself. Explanation at times becomes confusing. If I would have said "You need to pass parameters wrapped in single quotes", It eventually would have ended in me writing the above thing. :)

Yes, on page load wrap your binding function between if(!IsPostBack){} block. On GridViewSelectedIndex change write only the functionality required to fill the other dropdownlist. On click of search button again call the binding function.

You should again fire the same query because your data depends upon year: SqlCommand sqlCmd = new SqlCommand("SELECT * from TableFIN WHERE FINYR = @FINYR", connection); sqlCmd.Parameters.AddWithValue("@FINYR", DropDownList1.SelectedValue);

You don't have to set its visibility in HTML code. Do it from code behind. Add only this one:

Dear, the functionality you require need to be handled with these techniques only. Someday or other you will have to learn them. Why not now? They are not as difficult as they appear to be. Try it and come back if you are stuck somewhere. BTW, the link I posted has a very basic implementation of jQuery autocomplete plugin.

Means your image folder is outside your project folder. In that case you will have to create a virtual directory that will point to the physical directory(D:/Images or whatever). This way you can access it from your project.

You are not getting my point. If you change the properties like Enabled = true and ReadOnly = false for your "greyed out" textboxes, does you get the desired result? Or the output still remains the same after changing the values in the textboxes?

The above is a web config file from one of my project. There were other entries in it but for the sake of understanding and keeping it more readable I have omitted that. You can include only this part in your config file and it will work. The other entries in the config file are usually for namespaces, ajax, smtp settings, web service references etc.

Its OK. The reason you are getting this error is because of wrong usage of dropdownlist values both in getting and setting. By that I mean you set the value of dropdownlist by "selectedindex" or "selectedvalue" property. Similarly at the time of saving the value of dropdownlist in the database these properties are used. The following example will get you started with dropdownlist usage:
