Have you checked the error logs in the server? Try calling the method from the server where the service is hosted using the localhost instead of the public url and see if you are getting any error details.

Create a function with the code and use FileName variable mentioned in the code as a parameter where in you can pass the full path of the file name. In the code i posted I was passing the file name as "~/upload/test.txt". Hence I used Server.MapPath function.

You are not executing your command object and you are directly trying to access the columns from the command object. It is not possible. Assign the command object execution to datareader using ExecuteReader()Method and access the value from the data reader.

But for the above scenario we only wanted to know the 3rd highest salary. When dense_rank is in this function and two employees are having the same 3rd highest salary figure, then two rows will be returned, while actually the expected result should be one row with 3rd highest salary
