i added the HyperLinkField before and it is working. but what i want is to click on anywhere on a row and redirect me to another page with the querystring of the id field

Dear Ralph,
i found the solution:
label1.Text=GridView1.Rows[2].Cells[4].Text; this will return the item saved in the specified cell

Dear Nakur,

it not returns the cell's value, it returns this: System.Web.UI.WebControls.DataControlFieldCell
