As far as I'm concerned, it's solved. Since you believe left and mouse button behavior shouldn't differ, I would suggest that you contact Microsoft about it.

It's hard to say whether the message box comes from within the DLL. I placed this message box code as the first line of the C# function, and the message box was never displayed:

MessageBox.Show("here");

It may be complaining about the NULL-value, but I have tried other things as well, such as:

Yes, it does work on XP and Vista. I'm wondering if this problem has something to do with Windows 7 being a 64 bit operating system.
