I've had WPF an VS behave oddly when I accidentally had different targets for different projects in my solution, so just hoped it was that simple. Otherwise no brainwaves from me sorry.

Have you checked you're targeting the same .Net framework in both solutions? Just a wild punt.

Share your code if you want to get a response other than this type, please.
Try making it contain a working sample of the behaviour you're getting (include the style and the xaml.

I was looking for a solution to a similar question. I found this and the only thing the OP needed to do to make this work (and worked in my case) was to change to Database Password= instead of Password=. So it is not a wrong answer, and I gave the solution so that other people looking at a 5 yO post may get a heads up. Sorry if that made your day worse :) Never mind - it may be wrong I see your point.

Thanks for the help and interest Richard. I take it that the method is then indeed to use Custom Actions and I will get back here with a proper answer useful for others at a later time - when I've got one.

I think if you show code that demonstrates the behaviour - you will get more luck in answers.
At the moment the best people can do is to say look at Data\Control templates or something along those lines. (basically using your question to search the site or google). Share your code that demonstrates the problem.

Try stepping through the code in debug mode to see what happens.
I think you will find that you overwrite the label values a number of times with values from your query.
That is probably not what you want. Have a look at Databinding to see if that may help you achieve what you're after

You are assuming a lot of knowledge on the part of the person who has to answer this question.
What is a click point in relation to Steganography? I'm not sure what that is. It is also not clear what you're really asking for. Mouse cursor location on an image? or is it a decryption algorithm to find the most likely changed values?
Anyway you need to think of a better question in order to get a useful answer.

You are asking a lot here. People probably wont go to your link to read a picture about what is wrong.
Post the error message in text - let people know what you're trying to do and what you have done so far that didn't work.

Just add a solution - the system works out you did it yourself! :)

Do you know in advance the capacity of each column?
If so you can use some of the string manipulation functions, if not you probably have to look at doing some PL/SQL stored proc dure stuff.

You could make your Label text a property of your User Control so you could set it from outside.

Which version of visual studio are you using? You can do F5 (run to next break point) or shift+F11 I suggest you read up on debugging in the help files. There are many extremely useful features that you'll only find if you read this section.

What is your environment? WinForms or WPF. Have you had a look at googling this. There are many good resources even on this site.

In principle a good ide, but the implementation means that the user will be allowed if the trigger is not run on the day when the software expires. Better to say in Expiration <= the current date.

I'm not sure your question and your code are well aligned.
Looks to me like you're opening a connection to a database asking how many menuitems thare are in the Icecream group and then you're counting how many checkboxes you've got checked in ch9. if more than the number of menus then you show the message.

There are many issues in your code.

First when you open a connection you need to close it as well (or at least that is good practice)

Are you sure that select max_items from menu_group where group_name='icecream' returns the value you think it should do? It may, but if you really want a count you could do something like
select count(*) from menu_group where group_name='icecream'

Have you tried debugging your function so you can inspect the values (and hence better understand the behaviour)?

Try searching for licensing - I guess what you want is a bullet proof method to make sure unauthorised use of your software is not happening. Lots of methods are mentioned here and also a bit of philosophical discussions on whether it is worth it or not.

Are you using Windows Forms or WPF and what code are you using to bind?

It is a bit unclear what you want to achieve. Perhaps if you can include code or say the exact steps you are doing you may get an answer.

Sorry that I'm no genius :) - I did try for a while to achieve COM compatibility between .NET and Excel VBA, but I gave up in the end. I don't think MS is trying to make it easy for you. You can probably develop a whole application the integrates Excel into C# easier than the other way round. My only simple trick that I have tried was to use Delphi - but then I knew and had Delphi already so it may not be easy for you.

If you share your ultimate goal in your question you may get a better response. (E.g. why do you want to do the step you want to do? Perhaps people will tell you not to go on that path at all..)

See if you can make a small project that has just a grid with the same or similar layout with more than one row in. (I assume this is the same in WPF as in Silverlight). If you can replicate in a small sized project it may be easier to solve and get help. I'll see what I can dig out from old projects. Please tell the version of VS and Silverlight.

I remember having a similar issue some years back in WPF. It has to do with how the Template is being applied. I can't quite remember how It was fixed. I'll see if I can find it somewhere in the back of my mind.
Is this a problem only after you add a new row - or also before?

Hmm, I've tested this with the RichTextBox Hyperlink in my solution and it still doesn't play ball. The message I get is

at System.Windows.Navigation.PageResourceContentLoader.EndLoad(IAsyncResult asyncResult)...

This would be because the RtfTextBox in on a Page sitting in a navigation:Frame with a UriMapping like this:

urimapper:urimapping mappeduri="/Books/{pageName}.xaml" uri="/{pageName}",

but if I change the xaml to this I still get the error

targetname="ContentFrame" navigateuri="/Chapters/Page">

but this time it reports

Message: System.InvalidOperationException: No XAML was found at the location '/Books/Chapters/Page.xaml'.

And the /Books/Chapters/Page.xaml does exist in the root of my site.

Hi Sass, Thanks, I've reported the issue to our IT guys and they're looking at it. I think to solve the problem of not having to hang for extended hours waiting for a dialog box to populate I probably have to create my own wrapper to DirInfo, where I create individual processes for each call and have a timeout that may kill the process in case of too long answer times. This will clearly have to be another day as I don't have time for this right now. Cheers for your help.

Yes, it is a network drive - it is quite possibly on the other side of the Atlantic, but what I really need to properly understand is how I make the process of asking for the information react in a way that doesn't mean I have to wait for 15 minutes for it to fail. The program will not only run on networks that I know, but also unknown to me networks.

OK, the thing is that I am of course using this feature in other 'units' that fail because I don't get the right path (that would be a null as you said). I had been looking at the GetExecutingAssembly, but abandoned it because I'm lazy and it gave me uripaths. I would assume in my program that the Executing assembly path was always the one I'm after.

Thanks fo rthe reply - I've got a property that is a 'Version' that I want to have as the SelectedValue at the same time (this doesn't work in the cbxUpdating) I have a template that works on just the Value part of the collection. I refer to that just on the DataType eg:

The only issue with this solution is that it does not cover the Windows bar at the top.

The answer from you was Bad Idea! - which one? Looking for standard or implement my own database? I agree that I should have shared my end goal from the beginning and then went on to explain my end goal, but probably still not well enough. Any way I will make my app following the advise of separate database for tagging. And the FileSystemWatcher seems interesting.

I will go for the own database. Had thought about xml that would accompany the files, but it seems a lousy compromise. Over time I may be able to include tagging like Office by influencing the binary file coder. Not a solution for the text files though.

I am not sure it is necessarily a bad idea to try to solve the problem or look for standards. Either of the two could lead to easier integration in future versions.

I found this article http://www.codeproject.com/KB/selection/TagCloud.aspx where the author works with TAGs and tagging perhaps choosing 'a standard approach' would enable easy reuse of others code.
