probably it is async operation. Try to set position using
Dispatcher.BeginInvoke()

and what is the problem? From your snippets I have only one suggestion, to replace TemplateBinding by simple Binding with RelativeSource TemplatedParent. TemplateBinding might work not for all properties. But I didn't see full code and xaml, and you didn't tell what exactly doesn't work, so it is just a guess

no need at all. I can imagine several ways to find empty place without that. For example, look at this: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/10352555/how-can-i-find-uielements-in-a-rectangle-in-wpf
The idea is to suggest some place for new ellipse (your approach with random points) and check whether it is intersecting with existing ellipses. You can start from checking rectangle bounds, it would be not very accurate for ellipses, but will give you the starting point for further improvements. The number of ellipses should be much smaller than number of pixels in canvas, so it will be more effective.
In my opinion, your code from the first post will work bad on any platform. It is not related to WPF

looks like a problem in Telerik's implementation. As far as I remember, they have support forums on their site, ask there

what about other setters? Can you get something else working, for example, Red background? And search all your xaml for FontSize, maybe you have conflicting setting elsewhere.

try relative uri
Uri uri = new Uri("Images/MyIco.png", UriKind.Relative);
or Uri uri = new Uri("/Images/MyIco.png", UriKind.Relative);
Try both, sometimes the problem might be in leading slash.
Also look at this thread, there are some different samples: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/350027/setting-wpf-image-source-in-code

basically, you should make sure that resource exists in your application and uri is correct. So, check build action for the image and whether it is actually placed under Images folder. If you have some tool like .Net Reflector, you can check how resources are packed inside your assembly and compare with your Uri.

Add image file to application root, make sure that Buiild action for it is set to Resource. Then in xaml set Icon="myImage.ico". That's all. If you added image to some subfolder, you should write exact path to this image. But you don't need to write project name. Try to remove 'MyProject'

I see. Maybe using ControlTemplate whould be simpler, or you might have to write converters for every different column.

why, if you use it inside the ControlTemplate, it can't be null, it is always the control for which this ControlTemplate is used. Anyway, it would be easier if you can show the simple code and xaml reproducing your problem.

your sample works for me with the standard BlurEffect. So perhaps the problem is in effect you use. Probably it is not updated on changing center, or maybe some properties should be set to something else.

to get someone to get your question correctly, you should ask more specific questions. Why can't you use this article? What exactly doesn't work for you? I suppose, attached code might be outdated as the article is quite old, but all ideas still true. It shows how to bind your data to DataGrid and how to save updates. I thought that it is exactly what you are looking for.

hard case. I'm afraid that no one can tell you something for sure without debugging your code. Try to subscribe on AutoGeneratedColumns event and alter column properties in event handler:
http://documentation.devexpress.com/#WPF/DevExpressXpfGridDataControlBase_AutoGeneratedColumnstopic
There is no sample for this event, but the idea should be the same as in old event which has been replaced by this one: http://documentation.devexpress.com/#WPF/DevExpressXpfGridDataControlBase_ColumnsPopulatedtopic. I suggest you to try changing CellTemplate as well. At first, you can do very simple DataTemplate, something like red border and assign it to Column.CellTemplate property. If it works, you can make it more complicated with binding to your data and converter.

any chance that you need style for ctl_Child_Grid?
Irina Pykhova
3-Aug-13 6:39am

Looks Ok at first sight. You should debug this. There are a lot of possible problems. You might need different binding path. Or maybe you set style too late when all cells are already filled. Make sure that your code (where you set binding) is actually called. Set WPF Trace Settings to All (in VS Options), and look what you see in output window, maybe there are data binding errors.. If your data grid is editable, check what happens if you change cell value at runtime.
Or first check whether the style is applied at all - comment out converter in style setter, try to set red background without condition. Does it work?

Just rename style target type and property in your code.
I added code snippet to my answer above
And it doesn't make any sense whether your items source is fixed or no. This should work in any case both from xaml and from code

in your case Style - is a column style. It is applied to the column as a single FrameworkElement, not to individual cells. Use CellStyle property. Here is DevExpress sample of cell appearance customization: http://documentation.devexpress.com/#WPF/CustomDocument6772. They use CellStyle property. In the sample they set it in xaml, you should do the same from code.

I'm not sure that I understand. Your initial question was about resizing cards on mouse over, not about resizing window. Look, if you need to resize the card on mouse over - use single ScaleTransfrom for the whole card (in your xaml, it should be applied to the bottomGrid). About windows size - is it a separate question? If you need to move cards according to the window size, use something like wrap panel, which will layout them automatically

you can throw away a half of this method. For example, you don't use list at all. At least, you could use it to get line count directly without one more call to File.ReadLines. Read file once with ReadAllLines and use returned result to do other actions, don't read file many times.

search all your xaml for ErrorWindowStyle string. Apparently, xaml loader can't find resource with this key from the place, where you reference it. For example, resource might be defined in one ResourceDictionary and referenced in another one or in xaml page. Maybe you should inlcude ResourceDictionary with this resource as a MergedDictionary in the file, where you reference it. Actually, there are many possible situations. It's hard to tell something for sure without seeing full project.
