I can't do this because I have to enter last input after analysis is done. And I don't know when analysis will be completed. Actually all automatic inputs are configuration of application, after providing configuration it starts device which will run for sometime and after analysis is done I will enter number 13 to stop device. So, I cannot input last input before the two inputs.

You are right, I tried this way already but some test cases are getting failed. I am a full time employee so I'm little busy this week. But I can give you hint since you are all curious. Remember in the question they said tape pieces my overlap.

let say if there are 150 cabins and 6 broken cabins 20, 30, 75, 80, 110, 140 and number of pieces to be cut is 3

.....20.....30....75....80.....110....140....
then

or

now the answer is 11+6+31
but another possible ways is
56+31+1

2 is number of pieces of tape must cut. That is why we just cut 2 pieces with length 11 and 6 meters. If that number is 4 we might have cut 4 pieces of length 1 meter.

I tried printing addresses of variables using

printf("first(%p) second(%p) third(%p) fourth(%p)\n", &node.first, &node.second, &node.three, &node.fourth);

what I got was

first(0x7ffc0f5f4740) second(0x7ffc0f5f4744) third(0x7ffc0f5f4748) fourth(0x7ffc0f5f4750)

that means

I don't understand how it got padding.

let say the alignment is

e e e 1
2 2 2 2
e e e 3
4 4 4 4
4 4 4 4

where e stands for empty or padding and 1, 2, 3, 4 represents variables. Now there is only 20 bytes of memory used.
