The icon is drawn alright while not in "extended multi-display" mode.
Handle of DeviceContext I take from DirectDraw surface (DirectX9).
I use defaults when create primary/back surfaces. Probably I need to configure some "bit depth" fields for it?

I've tested on Win10 and seen the same problem .
Moreover : when I connect with "remote desktop" to my computer it behaves as following:
1) If connection mode is "1-display" - I see all icons!
2) If connection mode is "use all displays" - I don't see icons!
So most probably the problem is inside Windows...
How would you proceed in such situation?

I don't think that it's "refresh" issue because low-color-depth icons are visible while 32-bit icons appear as empty.I see bounding rect (which is drawn separately) only. I'll try in Windows10 and report... Do you think that it's a bug of Win7 GDI?
