Well, thank you,, but actually I want to learn new things and become better, just to know what is wrong and I'll try to solve it myself, or even to change the algorithm completely, some articles, or references would be great.
by the way, I remember another programming problem, and used this technique, but I failed, I just learnt another one, and I got accepted, but because I didn't learn what was wrong, I failed again. Honestly, It's all about learning and nothing else..

First of all thanks for your reply.
I have googled it, and I understood that it is a pointer to the inner data, but what about calling delete, why doesn't it cause any problem to the string object ?

I'm using code blocks 13.12 IDE with gcc I'm sure about it's version. But does it treat a static const int with initialization only as if it was an enum ?

I mean why could I take the address of a value in an enum but I could not do that for a static const int in-class initialized without an outside-class-definition ? I wish it become more clear now :)
Sam.

This means that every constant in code, such as 6, 7.012, "Hello World", has a place in memory, and the value in this place could not be changed until the place is reserved by an object or a variable, Right ?

I think I have got it but why function like strcpy doesn't work and cause a runtime error ??

Do you mean that I have passed a copy of pointer str and "Hello" string as well ?? But I have a misunderstanding, when I used the debugger I have found that both of the two pointers have a the same address, does not that mean that both of them points to the same thing ?

It is Practical C++ programming by Steve Oualline. He wrote exactly 3 lines about it plus 7 lines of simple example that I haven't understand well.

Oh thanks, but what about this ?
"itr = find( student_roster.begin() , student_roster.end() , "John" );"
I'm just curious about this line, is it not legal in C++ ?

Have you read the code ? Do you know why this line of code doesn't work ?
"itr = find( student_roster.begin() , student_roster.end() , "John" );"
Of course, I know the usage of the member function find of the container map, I'm just curious about the line that I have written above in this comment.
is it not legal in C++ ?

That's it , I guess :
e:\programs\codeblocks\mingw\bin\..\lib\gcc\mingw32\4.7.1\include\c++\bits\stl_algo.h|135|error: no match for 'operator==' in '__first.std::_Rb_tree_iterator<_Tp>::operator*<std::pair<const std::basic_string<char="">, std::basic_string<char> > >() == __val'|

I'm sorry for lack of clarity, my problem is I have such a number
37107287533902102798797998220837590246510135740250 in a file, I want to read just the first ten digits, so I used a char to read each digit, but I had to read also the next 40 digits without adding them which waste a lot of time in the case of more data to read, how to skip that or to go to the next line for example. I wish that my question is clear enough this time.
Thanks, Samuel.

Yes, I though I had to rewrite it in a better way, I have a lot to learn about code design and alogrithms. Thanks a lot.

Yes, I need more work I have just been programming for 2 months, I'd work hard.
Thanks a lot for help.
