I did a simple sequence of actions as put the code in URL line and execute it and I found that the interpreter does not recognize the variable value. For me the are no issues you have described before...

Ok, thank you. Could you clarify a bit what is "custom action" and how to do this?
I am a beginner and has never faced Wix before.

To tell the truth the main goal was to keep users' data for some purposes, but not to keep them as configuration files, hence I see it worth to use a DB, it would be better for huge number of operations like write, rewrite, store, delete data.|Thank you all. I appreciate it.

I have no idea about the client's side but it seems to me that a request to the server and then processing of the response is the only way... at least on my mind

The main goal is to built in the possibility for a user to click on a button on the screen like "Save HTML" button created by me and the to get the whole HTML code of the webpage with all the CSS3 styles and pictures.
So if WSH can be built in the client's side - it can be done via WSH. why not...
But all in all I suppose that the implementation can be daone also via Js
By the way what limitations has javascript in I/O?

Oh, Let us forget about IE less than 10 version. The issue should be solved for IE 10,11

Thank you for your help.
I will write a real "How can I ..." question if I know how to implement the written before.
But now I need a hint how to do this, not a full solution. But thank you once again.

Oh yes, I have heard about the variant of usage of XML SDK, but it is so complicated and it does not allow to create a great part of what POI API (JAVA) is able to do, for instance. But maybe I am wrong...
But thanks!

Actually I was aimed to use NPOI library but it turned out that it did not allow to create any types of line- bar- pie- charts. But EPPlus sounds really reasonable.

Oh, thanks a lot! It sounds quite reasonable. But could you explain or give a hint about how .js code can be used via C#.
The situation is like this one: there is a POST request from the client's side and an MVC controller catches it and then processes. So the code in this controller should export some data in .xlsx format and somehow build charts automatically. Is it possible to use .js in C#?
But your piece of advice about EPPlus[^] is worth implementing, it seems to me) Thanks again!

So, "Office is restricted for server work" - exactly, so that is why I am looking for another way to use Excel not installed on the server. The question is how?

Now the only way to access Office is to have it installed on the server.
Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel.dll is added as a reference.
Yeah, you are right about the license but actually I need a walk around way)
