Change question: How do I convert/Serialize my XML to JSON without including the root element?

I know that XML needs root but my web api does not accept root. It accepts {"ExtSerial":"KDI2015050501","Date":"02/01/2015", ...} I need to pass that JSON to my web api without root.

On my db.Sales_.Add(Sales); It's saying it has an overload error. Its like I'm missing something.

Thank you for the information. I'm not that great with the terms. But how can I pass Sales to db.Sales_.Add();? It keeps saying that it has invalid arguments.

I now understand the Find() method that it is for primary keys but what about strings passed from the uri?

I tried. When I tried to GET extserial using Postman it just gets the whole table. Not sure what I'm missing.

Basically I want to make a SELECT Serials FROM Transmital WHERE Serials = 888 using linq. Now I want what it returns to be put in a variable so I can use it in an if statement. It should return a long data since I will be comparing it to a long data from a JSON post.

If I would like to return it as long? would I substitute bool to int64 perhaps?

Yes, the Transmital table objects. Serial, by the way is a column in the Transmital table. I will add this in my question.
