I agree. So the default extension for word is .doc and excel is .xls. If you have any other extension, it will not recognize. Even .docx or .xlsx

I think you are not able to reference the model correctly. Doesnt matter on folder structure. Give proper reference to both the models and try using partial view in case you are not using.

thanks anand but this was the first thing i tried. issue is in MVC. the code is perfect for html file.

The error that i am getting in console window is "Datepicker() is not a function",
but surprisingly the code is working in normal html file.

i am using tinymce rich text editor. but all i want is bold,italics and bullets button in editor. and the rich text should be converted to html on click of submit button.
