yes there are functions to display the files in both format but i didn't find the conversion form 1 format into other.

yes i know about GDAL, and OGR but the problem is i have to generate images from files and save it, and why conversion into geotiff, actually i am not going to save the files in to geotiff format, but just only for illustrative purpose and its handling is simple and elegant.

Use this syntax
Irgb = imread('pathaddress/filename.jpg');
actually its finding the file in it's respective folder, so you have to add the full file folder path and corresponding file name to be load.
