Yes, I totally agree with you. However, recursion is a topic that I'm not very comfortable with yet.

Probably you are right. But I have worked all the cases by hand and I was sure it works.

Here I am still dealing with my problem, my question is. after I have created my custom exception which includes a custom message, how do call or add that exception to my try-catch block. thank you everyone for your help
<pre>namespace ValidationProgram
{
[Serializable]
public class MyException : Exception
{
public MyException() { }
public MyException(string message) : base(message) { }
public MyException(string message, Exception inner) : base(message, inner) { }
protected MyException(
System.Runtime.Serialization.SerializationInfo info,
System.Runtime.Serialization.StreamingContext context)
: base(info, context) { }
}
}</pre>
<pre lang="cs">namespace ValidationProgram
{
public class testException : MyException
{
public override string Message
{
get
{
return "data type is incorrect";
}
}
}
}</pre>

I just did, I read those articles the first time. I have also watched some videos on YouTube. My problem is that I would like to make sure the UI group gets a customized message for every exception

My project is already done, This is a secondary way that my teacher mentioned during class. I'm just trying to figure out how to do it for personal knowledge.
