not really. what i really want is to be able to hide the modalpopup after closing it and not making it appear anymore. i tried your codes but is not what i wanted. the modalpopup keeps popping up after i refresh the page but i only want it to pop up the first time only.

Hi Sorry for being unclear. I'm trying to use SCOPE_IDENTITY() using SQL Cmd in the DAL as such :

sql = new StringBuilder();
sql.AppendLine("SELECT SCOPE_IDENTITY() FROM WP_advUploads");

sqlCmd = new SqlCommand(sql.ToString(), conn);
result = Convert.ToInt32(sqlCmd.ExecuteScalar());

}
catch (Exception ex)

errMsg = ex.Message;

The Error Message was "Invalid column SCOPE_IDENTITY()"

Hello, actually it just shows the upload progress as 0% and the word "error" just appears beside the file that i was trying to upload. this is the AjaxFileUpload that i used from the Ajax toolbox
