Yes i want whole logic to be implemented in sql stored procedure. I am calling web service also from stored procedure and getting result in @response object in Stored procedure.

The string which u have splited is not fixed . The string may contain data of about 50 rows or of about 10 rows. In this case u have used 3 select statement because u know about the data ( i.e string contains data for 3 rows) but what if i get the string data as a input parameter i.e not knowing the string . I have created a asp.net web service so i want to get data from it . data is not fixed.? ;) maybe u have got my point.

hey i think i have not told u that E_ID is Identity column ..it generates automatically..i cant pass it .

my update function which is meant for (insert,update,del.) throws exception that:"Procedure or function 'spuserdetails' expects parameter '@E_ID', which was not supplied."

yes ...i m using it...and many of my programmer friends i think misinterpreted my question. again repeting i want a column to automatically take seed value (eg: 1) without passing that value from stored procedure. i have although created a column in my table named userdetails as 'ID' but from my ASP.NET web project i m not passing it to database it generates itself.

my table resides in system database.i think there is a problem with my connection string.the error i am getting when executing c# code is : Only one <configsections> element allowed per config file and if present must be the first child of the root <configuration> element.

to fetch the respective values back on form what can i do? i.e to get empid,name,salary,city back what to do.i am not using ms mgmt studio . i have created my table in vs 2008 only. so can't use select query to check whether my values are insertted or not.
