Do you mean creating a decimal for example decimal oldValue and then
if (nupWhiteC.Value > oldValue)
{
totalCost = totalCost + 0.50m;
textBox1.Text = totalCost.ToString();
oldValue = nupWhiteC.Value;
}
else
{
totalCost = totalCost - 0.50m;
textBox1.Text = totalCost.ToString();
}
oldValue = nupWhiteC.Value;

Hey, thanks for responding, I fixed the issue. I needed to add super(....) in the constructor.

Whenever I added [i] to the statement. It displayed the right variables from the DVD class but not the variables that I have in Item, it did not set the variables instead it only showed the default variable values of the Item class. Not sure how to do it so that it will display all the values I have putted inside the dvd1/2 objects.

Ah, found the problem. I needed to do it like that,
policy.StartDateOfThePolicy = dtpPolicy.Value;

Yes thats the right dateTimePicker and no, I didn't give a vlue from a database. Do I understand correctly that I need to set the value of a DTP before I click a button to add a new value to it?

policy.startDateOfThePolicy value looks like that: 01/01/0001 00:00:00.
I think that I am changing the value, in my main form like that:
Policy dateOfThePolicy = new Policy();
dateOfThePolicy.startDateOfThePolicy = dtpPolicy.Value;

the date of the startDateOfThePolicy is 01/01/0001 00:00:00

But People p = new People() is used to add new people to the List<person> people in the listClass
Dates are used to add number of dates inside a People class to the list called List<date> dates

hmm, ok. Then how could I not make it all 'throw away'?

You are 100% correct, whenever I was adding claims and people the variables were inside the specific scopes rather than declared at the top of the form.

Yes sorry, its the List<Date> dates{ get; set; } = new List<Date>();

Sorry, next time I will update the questions.
I think its incorrect because whenever I click the add date button it does not add this date to the List<date> dates in Person Class

Hey, thanks for the reply, I forgot to add the piece of code that shows how to store the person in the addPerson event handler. So its that -
List<driver> ListOfPeople = new List<driver>();
ListOfPeople.Add(person);
