There is one guy Ian Shlasko, the account name is also same, his comment were totally absurd, he rates without any understand, his comment are also totally absurd, he post stuffs just to gain popularity and nothing else,
It really sucks when someone comments or rate articles without any understanding or just to put down others, i expect code project, to check whether he is an authorized guy or simply comments how he likes...
There is one more important thing, code project should give importance too, i respect code project as it has brought many mechanisms to maintain transparency,
The main problem is as rating is concerned, sometimes what i observed only ppl. who know you only vote you, or ppl. who dislike you or know other means give improper rating which your article deserves like 5* rating article can become 1* or 2*, what i expect or many wish will be we need to be is rating of the article should be done by designated ppl. like MVP's or code project designated ppl. who are solution experts, not by anyone, which can lead to serious problems, ppl. cheat in this kind of scenarios, even i have seen article which are nothing become 5* rated by 100's of member, articles which are really good will be rated to 2* or 3*. Irrespective of code project awards which effects true deserved one,
It also creates wrong impression on the s/w developers who want to use and know nothing in beginning, they go by rating, they may miss article which has 2 or 3* rating, but has good quality content and read 5* articles few might be crap, even i saw many such scenarios during my experience.
I insist code project, should nominate some subject experts to rate the article, by which thing goes fine, and true article which deserves good rating will be nominated and help readers

I haven't read your article, but I do agree with Ian that the votes on your article are suspicious. Here are some of my observations.
- You are kishhr. One of the first upvotes to your article was by kirsur. That name is very similar to yours, and that account was created only a couple days after your article was posted.
- You got a flood of 5-votes on a single day weeks after your article was posted by accounts all created on that day. Suspicious.
- One of those suspicious accounts is "james farewell" and the other is "mathew farewell". Interesting that they both have the same last name that just happens to be a random English word. Suspicious.
- Ian mentioned that all the accounts were from the same locality. However, they now appear to all be from the US. Did you go in and change the accounts so that they would all be US-based? Or maybe Ian was noting that all the names appear to be from the same region (based on the names rather than the account setting). I'll have to ask him about that.
My guess is that you either created those accounts yourself or got a bunch of your friends to sign up to vote on your article. However, there are indicators that those accounts were created by the same person.
Keep in mind that the site administrators can look at those accounts to see if they were likely created by the same person. For example, by looking at the IP address they were created from. Are you sure there's not something you want to tell us?

A guess, based on the similar language distortions. Mainly, points #1 and #2 that you also spotted. I actually hadn't noticed #3.

1. There are thousand of ppl. whose names are similar, in india, leave india also in my company only, there are more than 70 to 80 ppl. in 1000+, in india there are crore of people who has that name.
2. I believe you are friend or know Ian personally and wanna support his comment.
3. The account creation or someone who rate article are beyond my scope.
4. I can understand by the name you have kept itself, you are sick spammer, the real person who post the article try to give his full name or partial name, so that others understand who is this fellow,

5. I strongly see you are set of spammers operating collectively, and spoiling others in code projects, Not to mention...
6. Since you said there are site admin looking after this, i just wonder how they allow ppl. like you giving such crappy names to your account.
7. Culprits like you who are commenting as you wish, without understanding how it looks are not afraid why should honest person like me should afraid.
If i wanna popularize i would have hundred's of account, and made 100's of comments so that i can get an award or something, why not done by me,
Very important thing i mentioned before also, if code project removes all comments and make zero rating i am fine, i built and published for ppl. to read, not to show off or something here.
In my previous comment also you can see the experts can review is what i am saying instead of some sad ppl. like you, is my opinion

Hey Chris, can you take a look at the comments on the article Building High Performance WPF/E Enterprise Class Application in C# 4.5 that were posted the 15th of June and see if those accounts were created from the same IP address? You can ignore the rest of this message, as I'm just replying to the OP.

That was not the only indicator. And have many people in India with the last name "Farewell"? And the name was not the only indicator, like I said. They were also mostly posted on the same day.

I do know Ian from the forums here. He and I are very active members. I have never met him in person. And I would support any comment which appears to be correct.

Most every member who has seen my activity here on Code Project would disagree. I suspect Chris (one of the co-founders of this site), who I have met in person, would also disagree.

Have you ever seen Basic Instinct? The main character writes a book about killing somebody, and then kills the person as described in the book, then in her defense says "why would I kill a person in that exact manner? It would be too obvious." So she was using evidence in support of her guilt as evidence of her innocence. This is very similar to what you are doing. Perhaps you didn't put 100's of comments because you wanted to use that as an excuse later on.
I think you've been caught with your hand in the cookie jar, and now you are getting defensive about being caught. Sorry if I'm wrong, but that's the way it looks from my perspective.

If he is site protector simply say with proper evidence, i clearly said, even he also said we track IP, and then talk with solid evidence, no such stuffs are happening,
meanwhile seeing people like you, who are putting nose in everyones work and trying to enjoy......
Talk if you have proper stuffs, the kind of damridge it causes not you are anybody will repay for it.....

Before commenting i have done enough googling, i know which is what, first it came from his end not mine, try to understand and comment not just like that, you might be president of your nation, nobody cares when there mistakes were held accountable...

This also has highest rating, i have to congrajulate him as he is not stucked to spammers like you, than his article.
The rating are 200+, comments are made daily 3-4 hours gap, thought you guys say this also spam as some pattern there,
I strongly recommend code project to remove sick spammers like you as good articles are losing it's value

Added to the suspicious nature of the votes, every one of the "5" votes was created the same day, and each of them has left a total of 1 message... on this article. That's not just suspicious, that is just ludicrous. Perhaps this is a situation where Chris needs to have one of his "chats" with this OP after checking out the internal statistics on the 5 vote accounts.

Cut the guy a break. It's totally possible that two people with the same uncommon last name would create an account on the same day just to upvote his article, one after the other. Just like it is possible that all the molecules of air in a room might all decide to go to one corner of the room at the same time, causing the occupant to suffocate. Totally possible.

Who would define a solution expert? One of the great things about the article rating system is that it's a democracy - everyone gets a chance to have a say, and if an article is good then it doesn't need an "expert" to say so. A good article is one that educates someone - it shouldn't matter whether or not the person reading it is an expert, at the end of the article, they should be able to say "I get it. I see how this was put together. Very clever."
Or do you think that only a supposed expert should be clever enough to understand an article? If so, you've just decided that articles shouldn't be available for everyone. Should we have tests to see if someone's clever enough to read an article.

I dono how it is benfiting you or someone my friend, what i am saying is if you say i wanna be judge, you should have fair understanding on subject, in a reality show you have seen, the people who score are mainly judges, not anyone just like that,

Turn that round. Surely, by the end of your article you should have enough understanding of what the article is about to be able to judge it. If I don't understand your article at the end, then the problem is with the article. There's an old adage:
"If the learner hasn't learnt, the teacher hasn't taught."
Think about it.
Don't take criticism personally - at the end of the day, why does it matter to you what someone else thinks or says about your article? Do you use it to improve as an author, or do you sit in a corner and sulk. My first articles stunk, and fortunately people were kind enough to give me criticism - that has helped me to grow as an author and I'd like to think my later efforts are much better. The important thing to try and do is understand why people have commented the way they did, and to take that and use it to improve.
