This is a restriction with remoting and serialization I'm assuming.
It is caused because you need to alter the typeFilterLevel settings from their default to "Full"
Below is an example of the App.Config section. You can do this in code too, just search for typefilterlevel.

<formatter ref="binary" typeFilterLevel="Full" />
</serverProviders>

Where I can change this setting? Where is App.Config.
[PermissionSet(SecurityAction.Demand, Name = "FullTrust")]
I put that before my class on the server who make the serialization.
And still doesn't work

OK since you do not have an App.config file you must have some code that sets up the remoting below is an example of how to set the typeFilterLevel in code provided by microsoft and reproduced here for convenience:

How do I get my label to update on the form before my program enters the function? currently the form does not update until the download function hits a message box that is in it.

Hi i am building an xml file to use in my app but the links in the xml file need to be encoded using the Server.URLEncode() function but as the file is being built in a seperate class that class does not have access to the Server.URLEncode() function, so im basically looking for advice as to how i would work around this any help appreciated

Use the static HttpUtility.UrlEncode method.

im using fusion charts and as there is a parameter in the url the url placed in the xml fileneeds to be encoded
actually i have the problem solved now but i have a brand new one
when the chart is clicked(for drill down) it returns to the same url but does not always run the Page_Load function does anyone know why this would be happening

I am downloading a file and using the function below to read data from the site. It seems that the file downloads a little faster through firefox but not much, is there a better way to download the file? Can I increase the size of my Byte Array?

Download speed is dependent on many factors, you code only being one of them and most likely not the problem.

Why not use the Response.OutputStream method? Or if you use framework 2.0, you can use the Response.TransmitFile method.

I'm using the webresponse to call the code I posted, wanted the byte count so i can display a progress bar. The file I am downloading is a 60MB download and take about 30 mins to download. I want so sort of visual display that the program is still working even though it should just stay in the system tray.

The easiest way is to use VS2005. For example I create a resource for english "Resource.resx" and a resource for german "Resource.de.resx". Then I just put a string in it, just call it "String1".
After that, if I want to use the string, I just call it through "Resource.String1". Because VS2005 create automatically a class for that resource.

Can anyone explain to me how I can detect a key pressed and deal with it in one piece of code whatever component has the current focus. I have trawed through the help files but most of what is thrown up pre-supposes a certain level of knowledge (i.e. that you know what you are doing!).
I have a little program which controls the speed and timing (on/off) of a motor and I need to be able to stop the motor when any key is pressed as quickly as possible for safetly reasons whatever control currently has the focus.

Hello,
I'm not sure if it works in every situation (actually I know it's not, because I had problems with a PDF viewer Control in this case), but you can try this in your main form.
this.KeyPreview = true;
this.KeyDown += new KeyEventHandler(...);
this.KeyPress + = ...

Thanks Martin, I think you have pointed me in the right direction. It works if I point each component's KeyDown event handler at the new form KeyDown event handler. I will have to differentiate between keys or the components which are suppose to accept new values from the keyboard - won't!

You need either to grab the parents form key down event or you can set up a hook to grab the event whether this form is focused or not.

I wanted to say that it's a feature of the Forms class.
You don't have to hook on the Controls eventhandler.
Try it out on your main form and you will see.
