Just checked it's path an I'm only about a 45 minute drive south of the total eclipse band. I might have to take a little road trip next year.

I posted an innocent item about a solar eclipse. Others are trying to turn it into a political joke.

Good thing you included the link - otherwise he would never have found it with the "u" in it...

Damnit, I've just spent whole minutes fretting over whether or not English has a word for the minus-oneth anniversary (the minus twoth anniversary has something to do with football, I believe).
I'm almost certain that there isn't one, especially given how we treat verbs that refer to future events (No, Virginia, there is Not a future tense in English).
There are plenty of words that presage future events, but not by a year precisely or annually, and certainly none that take a direct adjectivised numerical determiner (that I could think of in the minutes I've dedicated to it, so far).
This must not stand!
Someone has to make one up!

I propose pre-annum, abbreviated to: "prannum". What sayeth you?

But that, in turn, would get abbreviated to the derogatory term "pranney", and we don't want to add a negative note to absolutely everything in the future (only to elections).
