This is a great article/post. It affirms everything we have known all along about programming as a profession:
Learn to code, it's harder than you think[^]
The difficult we do right away...
...the impossible takes slightly longer.

Yea it is; programming is super hard to start. Once you figure it out though, it isn't too bad.
It is hard to get in because universities don't take you far enough. Software can be very complicated. A college degree program cannot teach a student to be much more than entry level, because a single course cannot teach the complexity of many systems; not enough time. It takes a large investment by a company to hire someone into programming because the degree alone is not enough. I was in the same boat, it wasn't until I wrote my second content management system at home, that I knew I could surely be in. So for me, the degree helped open the door, but the self studying at home gave me the skillset to have a little success and give me that middle class paycheck.

That was a great summary of how it works and possibly includes the real key to what the article and everyone is invovled is trying to figure out: why can some people code and others can't?

Answer: the ones who can code, want to.

In school when people study theory, i have been reading and trying to code different function. Coding is trying out not just only about read theory.
