Sounds like you're using a MySQL back-end. It also sounds like you're confusing the difference between a charset and a collation. The former is to represent characters on screen, the latter is for ordering and sorting based on the charset you've chosen. You cannot set a charset to a collation. Also, make sure your front-end and back-end charsets match.

One thing you have to consider is that earlier versions of Windows won't work well with UTF-8 with BOMs, and more recent versions won't work well with UTF-8 without BOMs.
The most obvious thing to do is just smile vacantly, until they come to take you away.

Pray tell, just how do you 'damage the image' of FIFA? Is not being a corrupt money grabbing backstabber considered against the ethics of the game?
I am no great fan of toe ball, but this stinks like the stinkiest thing in the Stinky Game at Stingville, Stink County! I'm not saying the FA are clean, far from it, but they are verging  on beatification compared to Sepp Blatter and his C**k Womble Cronies.

England has plenty of good players. Unfortunately at least one of the following always happens at national level:
1. They don't picked
2. They get picked but get played out of position
3. They get picked and are asked to play a different style
4. They get picked and suck big time because of 2 and/or 3
5. They get picked and can't play well because their teammates are suffering from some combination of 2, 3 and 4
6 They get picked and choke
What England lacks, in short, is the ability to pick good national coaches (possibly because getting picked paints a huge target on the unfortunate victim's back for the press). A possible solution would be to get rid of the Mirror, Sun, Star and Mail!
Wales on the other hand does have some good players, just not enough of 'em.
