I have a few domains with them and I don't get any spam from them other than to let me know if I need to take any actions on the domains.
Perhaps you opted in to marketing from them?

If I did, it was probably one of those misleading UI's that made me do it!

I did and now I don't for the same reason.
Plus I found out I was paying too much.
We have two domains now with namecheap.com - They rock like no other.
They NEVER spam you except the will let you know when the domain need registering.
I was turned on to them by a web dude I know and have never looked back

I thought the London Olymipcs were going to be a shambles, but they worked out very well.
Sochi[^] may not be so fortunate.
Seriously, viewing seats in a toilet?

I think the London Olympics rewrote the books on just what an Olympic celebration is, it was that good,, relevant, modern, and absoloutely a celebration of what Britain is to the world today. Its going to be a very hard act to follow.

Is it me or there is no sense of joy or anticipations in these Olympics?
It looks more like a bad Putin publicity stunt than an Olympics; people seem to be going there just "because".
Was Putin ever happy in his life?
it reminds me of Transporter 3 (the movie) :
- I'm realist.
- My friend was right when he said you were doom and gloom.
- What means "doom and gloom"?
- You know, you only see the horrible and the terrible.
- Your friend, where does he get this? He doesn't know me.
I'd rather be phishing!

The London Olympics flame's copper petals on stalks was brilliantly done. Only one chance to make it work on the night and it delivered.
It would be nice to see if Sochi leaves something that can be maintained and reused. I don't really think Putin gives a toss about it once the media circus has gone home.

I'm quite certain the viewing seats are for officials to verify that the pee the athlete puts in the cups actually comes out of the athlete's body. There are just too many cheaters out there.

If Sydney can get their trains to run on time for 2 whole weeks (the ONLY time they have done that EVER) then I think Sochi should be able to scrape through.
It always surprises me what a disaster these games (commonwealth in India, various Olympic games) before they start and how successful they are at the end. I hope these ones work out as well.

I thought Time was great, especially the exchange between Rick & Viv:
Time: RICK: I said, that'll teach you to mix your drinks!
VYVYAN: I already know how to mix my drinks, Rick.
MIKE: Yeah. Paint stripper and bleach. Lethal.
[...]
VYVYAN: I must be hallucinating. What's good for a hangover?
MIKE: Drinking heavily the night before.
