For those who don't know Hindi: There's this Indian political leader, who has understood "cloud computing" for its literal sense, and is explaining to another idiot about how software is stored in "the cloud".
The knob then is asking an open question to the computer scientists of the world on if anyone has thought about what might happen if it suddenly rains!

The first time I saw that video, I had to sit down for a few minutes to believe what I saw.

This is one of the most depressing things I ever read on the web. I used to live in blissful ignorance of just how disturbed/deluded/plain thick my compatriots are.
So Edward Snowdon's leaking of classified documents poses a very real tangible risks of terrorism in the UK and abroad. But as you might expect HYS is full of paranoid idiots who think the government is spying on them and their stupid lives and their porn habits. The guy is a a hero apparently for endangering every one of us.

Every right has risks. Something that the framers of the US constitution understood.
There are real risks associated with what Snowden released. The question is not whether it could be used to further some terrorist plot but rather will it be and to what extent the papers themselves actually would impact such a plot (it might have proceeded without the release.)

If you're serious, why not send all of your banking details, shopping habits and household internet habbits to me. Yeah - exactly! Elephant that for a joke. Some of us take exception to the kinds of blanket-(no suspicion necessary)-surveillance undertaken by a particular agency in the States. Edward's not about to get my condemnation any time this week.

How can revealing that our government, which we elected to protect us, is treating us all like criminals be construed as helping ter'r'rists?
The 15 ter'r'rists in the world don't need that kind of help; they can do the job without it.
What we need is a truly democratic option to elect a government that will not allow honest people to be treated like criminals, but it's not in the government's interest to give us that.

It's just like Identity cards: just how the heck would they have prevented terrorism? Would suicide bombers be thwarted because they didn't have one?

If the leaks showed anything, it's that your govt is in fact spying on all of you. And also on all of us (ie the rest of Europe), which isn't really necessary, we're already spied on by own respective secret services.
It was already known, really. The leaks just confirmed it, and showed the scope to be bigger than most people expected.
And if you're a terrorist, you have to assume that you're being spied on with special priority - proper cloak and dagger stuff, not just a phone/internet tap.
