Hi,
I usually choose C++ to filter the questions, so I get the ones that interested me.
Some time ago, I was visiting the questions and just clicking the old "latest" button I came back to my C++ filtered list chronologically ordered. Even when I logged in another day, the filters where working good and clicking in the "Quick Answers" main item of the drop-list at green bar was getting me to the filtered list.
Now, when I come to CP and want to take a look into the QA, the filter "C++" does appear in its box at the right side, but it is not working, I get all possible questions. If I try clicking on [GO] below the filter-tag I get:
Error: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.. Ticket: 1765476. Server: Web21
Win XP (SP2), IE7
On the other hand, when I directly click on "Quick Answers" at the green bar then I get the whole list without being filtered at all, until I click another time onto C++ (works only good when clicking in the list of tags).
Just an oppinion: I think the previous "Latest questions" was better than actual "view all"
P.S. I hope it makes sense... my brain is already in bed, although my body is still at work (1:20 am)
Regards.

If something has a solution... Why do we have to worry about?. If it has no solution... For what reason do we have to worry about?
Help me to understand what I'm saying, and I'll explain it better to you
Rating helpfull answers is nice, but saying thanks can be even nicer.

Check out the old Suggestions QAQ. There was one answer, but it was deleted. On the Latest and Unanswered lists, the question correctly shows as having 0 answers. However, when you view the actual question, it says there is 1 answer.

Check out the most popular questions. The top one supposedly has 151,149 views. This seems a bit high, considering the second most viewed question has about 5,000 views (making the top question 30x more popular than the second most popular question). Maybe the total views for all questions are showing for this question? Or perhaps somebody created something that repeatedly hits the same page? Maybe this page is being served up to search engine bots in place of all other pages? Anyway, just thought that was odd and thought I'd offer some possible reasons why that is happening.

I'd guess that someone wrote something to hit that page repeatedly. We're currently not limiting view counts by member, IP, etc. We'll reconsider if this grows into a bigger problem.
We do however, have a task to implement a date range limit on each of the tabs on the list page. From our last talks on it we thought a simple drop-down list of: today, week, month, 3 months, etc. would do. And perhaps setting the default to week would be a good idea.

Check out this question. Some of the question text is appearing next to the "improve question" button (i.e., it is too low). Some if it is in the proper place, but some of it is not. At least, that is what I observe now at revision 2... if anybody edits the question, that may no longer be the case.

Thanks. Will add to bug list.

Actually I was just testing this because I thought it'd be a quick fix but I wasn't able to reproduce it. Which browser are you using?
|

|

IE8 on Windows XP Home with the latest updates.

Okay, I'll add it to the bug list.

The links at the top right of the page to report a bug or suggestion for the Quick Answers system link to what appear to be the latest versions of this and the other tip/trick for suggestions, rather than to the tips/tricks themselves. This means the user (e.g., me) has no option to actually report the bug, as the forum is not at the bottom of the version page.

I can't seem to find the VB.NET tag , I also looked for a VBNET tag but there isn't one.
So I used the VB tag but it's rather pointless for VB and VB.Net are different aren't they?

Not sure if this is a bug, but I keep seeing questions incorrectly tagged with "C++, Linux". One example can be found here. Just thought there might be some bug, as it seems hard to believe that people keep making this same exact mistake. Here are some other examples: 1, 2 (possibly tagged correctly), 3, 4 (possibly tagged correctly).

Man you're really on top of things! It is a bug but we also just fixed. So it shouldn't be a problem moving forward.
